Team Management
Effective team management is crucial for project success. Timply projects support both individual user assignments and entire team assignments, giving you flexibility in how you organize project access and collaboration.
Understanding Team Structure
Projects support two types of team membership:
Direct Members
- Individual users directly assigned to the project
- Have individual access and permissions
- Can be added or removed independently
Team Assignments
- Entire teams assigned to the project
- All team members inherit project access
- Managed collectively through team assignment
Adding Individual Members
Navigate to Team Tab
Go to the Team tab in your project to manage project members.
Click Add Member
In the Direct Members section, click the “Add Member” button.
Search and Select Users
Search for users in your organization and select the ones you want to add to the project.
Confirm Addition
Click “Add Members” to confirm and grant them project access.
Assigning Teams
Access Team Assignment
In the Team Members section, click “Assign Teams”.
Select Teams
Choose one or more teams from the dropdown list. All members of selected teams will gain project access.
Confirm Assignment
Click “Assign Teams” to add all team members to the project.
Managing Project Access
View Current Members
The Team tab provides a comprehensive view of all project members:
Direct Members List
- Shows individually added users
- Displays user roles and join dates
- Allows individual removal
Team Members List
- Shows users who have access through team assignment
- Groups by team affiliation
- Shows inherited access status
Remove Members
Remove Individual Members Click the remove button next to any direct member to revoke their project access.
Unassign Teams Remove entire teams to revoke access for all team members simultaneously.
